Travel Guide: Mexico City Food Guide – La Roma
This is our first of many Mexico City blog posts and specifically a food guide! We’ve officially been in Mexico City for two weeks and all we have to say is… we are already wanting to book our next trip back! We’re sharing our guide to exploring some of the most popular neighborhoods in CDMX – La Roma and La Condesa.
Breakfast and Coffee – Panadería Rosetta
This place has been featured quite a bit on other travel blogs but it’s honestly worth the hype. Great coffee, amazing pastries. Highly recommend the guava roll which they are known for. Other favorites of ours include the rosemary bun and the dulce de leche bun.
Lunch – Taqueria Las Rejas
What a hidden gem! This spot has amazing authentic al pastor tacos where you order 5 at a time for 55 pesos. We recommend ordering 1 set of al pastor tacos and 1 set of casata (tacos with different fillings) for an amazingly affordable and tasty lunch.
Afternoon Snack – Mercado Roma
Head to this eating hall for a quick snack or afternoon drinks. There are plenty of vegan options too! We ordered a few drinks and a vegan pizza to share.
Dinner – Plantasia
Amazing spot for dinner with a peaceful vibe and interior. High quality vegan Asian food for a reasonable price. Favorites of ours include the Kim Chi roll and the Udon de crema trufa (udon with truffle oil and cream sauce). YUM!
Drinks – Wallace Whiskey Bar
Nice spot in the hustle and bustle of La Condesa for affordable whiskey drinks and snacks (like papas fritas!)
We’ve barely scratched the surface of all the amazing and abundance of restaurants in Mexico City! Please send us any recommendations you have and we would love to try and add to our Mexico City Food Guide.
