Coming to you this week from ๐Ÿ“Mexico City (CDMX), Mexico

If you’re not already subscribed to our newsletter, we invite you to do so here so you never miss an update!

Hi friends –

We’re really sorry… We took a long, unplanned break from the newsletter to work on some other (big) life changes but all roads lead back to travel. And for us, travel is incomplete without sharing a bit about what we’re up to via this newsletter, our Instagram, and our blog. So, thank you for your patience and your continued patronage – we’re back with another edition of ‘Where in the World?!’… just 1 day late! ๐Ÿ˜

ย

โœˆ๏ธ We’ve been on the move, and we have much to share here (and more soon!)

  • As many of you know, we spent the better part of our summer back in Seattle spending time with friends, family, and loved ones. And as we always rediscover, ‘home’ is chalk-full of little adventures and new experiences. Check out one of our favorite hidden gems, the city of Tacoma, and plan your own near-Seattle getaway!
  • The past few weeks have taken us from Seattle to Hawaii, back to Seattle, to San Francisco, and ultimately to our latest ‘home’, Mexico City. We love it here!! And as we wrap our second week in this magnificent, culture-rich, utterly delectable metropolis, we wanted to share a few of our favorite (food) spots so far. We hope you’ll be planning your own CDMX trip by the end of reading the post!

ย

โœจ What we’ve been consuming for entertainment and inspiration

  • Midori is a tried-and-true Selena Gomez fan. I’ll admit, I’m a fan, too, but not enough to blindly pay attention to anything she’s involved in… unless it’s something with Steve Martin (legend!). Gomez-Martin fan or not, Only Murders in the Building on Hulu is a work of art, thrillingly entertaining, and will not let you down. If you ever spent your childhood (or adulthood?) reading Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, or Agatha Christie, this will not let you down.
  • The enemy of excellence is mediocrity. Being average. Striving for the status quo. I needed a wake-up call from the hypnosis that our jobs and routines often cast upon us and the book, Do Life Differently, has done just that. For anyone looking for a reminder that life doesn’t have to follow someone (or a collective ‘someone’) else’s plan for you, this book will do the trick through a series of parables and lessons from the author, Jeff Reeter’s, life. You. Will. Not. Regret. It. Remember to take some massive action after reading the book – life is short!ย

ย

๐Ÿง  Two quick growth priorities we’ve been pursuing

  • While my 4-years of high school Spanish is faring well here in Mexico, Midori… self-admittedly, is doing her best to bring those high school Spanish class learnings back to life. As she brushes up on her Espaรฑol, Duolingo has been an amazing tool (plug: anyone existing users looking to upgrade Duolingo Plus? Ping us – Midori is looking to put together a Duolingo family plan to bring the monthly cost down ๐Ÿ˜…)
  • For any of my friends interested in decentralized finance (DeFi) and the future of crypto, I just stumbled upon a great new newsletter called Bankless that I definitely think you should check out – and let me know if you sign up. Even the free version is a treasure trove (and highly analytical!).

ย

And that’s a wrap! We’re excited to be back and will sign off this weekly newsletter with a piping hot photo of our lunch yesterday – only in CDMX!
