Coming to you this week from Seattle, WA
If you’re not already subscribed to our newsletter, we invite you to do so here so you never miss an update!
Hi friends –
Our time in Seattle is quickly coming to a close as we get ready for our next big adventure. But we have a few Seattle memories to create before we go! Thank you to friends and family who have made this summer so special – especially after the crazy year we’ve had, it’s a treat to make the most of being home. The next newsletter will be coming from a brand new (not-so-PNW) location! But until then…
Β
π We’ve got a few big plans left in Seattle… including a big family weekend!
- For those of you also spending time in the Seattle area this summer, or potentially planning a Seattle trip later this year, check out our guide to a quality ‘staycation’ in the Seattle area (equally good for full-fledged vacations) published earlier this year.
- Among our favorite spots is Whidbey Island. Decently well-known and far from a ‘hidden gem’ the island is sprawling and has something for everyone. Wine tasting? Check. Breathtaking oceanside hiking? Check. Farmer’s markets with delectable desserts. Check, check, check! Take a look at our Whidbey list in case it springs any ideas for a weekend of your own.

π In this crazy world, a dose of positive inspiration that keeps us going
- We actually discovered this YouTube channel several years ago but they have taken off in the past year or two and their content has been totally warming our hearts as of late. Check out Yes Theory on YouTube if you haven’t already. They will inspire you to make a change, smile, and see the world differently. The past few weeks’ worth of news cycles have been intense (to say the least) and a healthy sprinkling of Yes Theory through your days will be a welcome reprieve – we (almost) guarantee it!

ππΎ A life lesson we’re learning (more like re-learning) over the past few weeks
- Spending long chunks of time away from friends has had this funny effect: it has reminded us of the importance of picking your friends wisely. Midori and I are strong believers in the old adage, “you are the average of the people you surround yourself with.” So to all of our friends that have taken the time to touch base, visit, invite us into their homes, and be vulnerable with us… thank you. There’s nothing we cherish more than the people around us that push and inspire us every day. I’ve counted on my closest friends to help me navigate tough decisions that have totally changed my life (for the better) and I cannot thank you enough. We’re better for it!
Β
And finally… by the time most of you wake up tomorrow and read this edition of ‘Where in the World?!’ Midori and I will officially be celebrating our anniversary of 8 splendid years together.
So today, I just want to wrap by saying a very special thank you (and happy anniversary!) to the most special woman in the world and the fuel behind our fire to travel, see, and do everything we can in this short lifetime. Thank you, Midori, for taking the plunge on this crazy idea… and to all of you for a few min of your Wednesdays to follow along!Β
π May you find as much patience as Midori has found to put up with my bizarre sense of humor all day every day…around the world,
Akaash (& Midori)
