Hi friends –
We’d love to say that we’ve been roasting in the Texas sunshine… but we’d be lying. Alas, an early storm season here in Austin has met us with nearly 2 weeks of nonstop rain – Seattle weather haunts us yet!
That said, there’s no rain on this parade. The adventures continue, and we’re excited to share a bit of what we’ve been up to. Grab a cup of coffee and read on! ☕
💻 Almost 40% of Americans are vaccinated (over 60% of adults in the US). Naturally, our minds (and writing) go to travel ~
- In preparation for the return to air travel (whenever that feels comfortable), we’ve shared our methods on how to navigate the airport like a BOSS. You’re welcome!
- Though that #remotework life continues, we’re keeping it interesting by partaking in the thriving post-work happy hour circuit here in Austin. If you find yourself in town, here are our recs for a grand ole’ HH to forget your office woes.
- All this continues to teach us that work and travel are not mutually exclusive. Especially if you’re in a position to work remotely, don’t let anyone tell you differently. What other misconceptions might others have about life on the road? Here are a few we know of and our take on each.
🤯 What’s blowing our minds recently ~
- Speaking of remote work, we’ve been really enjoying visiting some local WeWork spaces around North Austin. Though WFH is awesome, sometimes it’s nice to (re)introduce some physical space divisions between work and life. But wait… you won’t believe the insanity of WeWork’s crazy ride from a budding upstart to becoming Silicon Valley’s golden child, all just to royally crash and burn just before its hyped IPO (which still hasn’t happened, btw!). All packaged up in this handy Hulu documentary all about WeWork – grab your popcorn and strap in!
💡 Awesome ideas that have us noodling ~
- To know us is to talk shop with us (💰). As many of our closest friends will attest, Midori and I love talking about ways to make money… often to the point of making it awkward 🤐 But this recent article on 28 passive income ideas (from the writer of the awesome newsletter, Contrarian Thinking) has us hyped and might have the same effect on some of you!
If you’ve got great articles, movies, books, etc. you think we should check out, please send them over! Austin is the longest ‘pitstop’ we’ve had in a while so we are embracing having a consistent home (for more than a month) to catch up on reading, learning, and all the rest.
