One of the secrets to feeling good living the digital nomad lifestyle is taking daily supplements. They’re awesome. Our surroundings change daily and our routine might be a bit unpredictable. By consistently checking off a few boxes on the health & nutrition front via daily supplements has become a superpower. Here are a few pills a day we have found can keep the doctor away!

Brain and Mental Health Supplement: Ashwagandha

It’s known for anti-inflammatory benefits and is remarkably good at reducing stress and keeping cortisol levels at bay. We can personally attest to its efficacy. Midori and I have both taken Ashwagandha with regularity for over 2 years.

Immune & Overall Health Supplement: Vitamin D3 + K2

After a strong cup of coffee brewed in our treasured AeroPress and something small to eat for breakfast, we’ll dose up with a few liquid drops of Vitamin D3 + K2.  Emulsified in olive oil for easy consumption is best. It’s practically tasteless, best consumed with a meal, and is doubtlessly our most important supplement.vitamin d3 + k2 daily supplements for digital nomads

Part of the charm of being a digital nomad entails being cooped up inside our Airbnbs for most of the day. Taking calls, working heads down… it all amounts to not a lot of time spent outdoors taking in that oh-so-precious sunshine.

To make matters worse, Midori and I are both Seattle natives which means (though we hate to say Seattle lives up to its rainy stereotype) neither of us grew up getting much sun. We’re playing catch-up now. Vitamin D alongside K2, helps the body process exogenous Vitamin D. This is instrumental to a healthy immune system, hormonal regulation, skin health, and so much more. This is one supplement we’ll always carry with us.

Gut Health (+ So Much More!) Supplement: Probiotics

And finally… we are big fans of maintaining strong gut health on the road. We’ll elaborate on this in a future post, but for the sake of completeness, we’ll wrap up our days with our #1 probiotic recommendation, Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10, easily found at Costco or online.probiotic daily supplements for digital nomads

While we may subject our stomachs to all kinds of experiments with rich, experimental, ‘out-there’ foods while we travel, ending the day with a good probiotic to restore + maintain the gut flora keeps everything moving along.
