Hi friends –

About 2,673 miles of driving later πŸ₯² the car is back in Washington! To say it’s a relief would be a massive understatement. The past two weeks have been 4-6 hours of driving daily and nonstop packing + unpacking of our suitcases in our race against the clock to make it back to Seattle by Thanksgiving. Against all odds, we’re here and we’re hungry! πŸ¦ƒ

🎁 It’s on our minds and it might be on your’s too… tis the season!

  • With Black Friday and Cyber Monday just around the corner, you may already be making lists already. Nice! But as we all know, more ‘things’ aren’t always the answer… especially if you’ve got a minimalist in your life who just doesn’t seem to want anything for the holidays. Alas, they just might not know how much they want these minimalist gifts we’ve personally learned to love without having to add any physical clutter to their lives!

πŸ˜† What has us laughing out loud and smiling ear-to-ear

  • Does the name Colin Jost ring a bell? You may know him better (and by his own description) as Scarlett Johansson’s underrated husband and SNL writer famous for his segment, ‘Weekend Update.’ Even if you haven’t heard of Colin before (we hadn’t), his book (bonafide memoir) titled ‘A Very Punchable Face’ will have you rolling on the floor laughing. IT’S. SO. GOOD.
  • We highly, highly, highly recommend the audiobook version (linked above) narrated by Colin himself to get the full comedic effect… This book turned a 6 hour drive from Arizona to California into an easy-peasy afternoon commute!

πŸ—οΈ Podcasts that both entertained and taught us something new

  • If you haven’t already heard about Web3, we can almost guarantee you will soon. Most likely from some over-excited family member at your Thanksgiving table who’s made a quick buck with crypto this year. But there’s amazing innovation happening here and Tim Ferris’s conversation with Naval R. and Chris D. will tell all (and perhaps inspire some to act!)
  • On a more practical note, Midori would like to acknowledge the reality of the holidays for all of us: time spent running around between ‘friendsgivings’ and family get-togethers. It can be stressful and overwhelming. We often forget to take a breath and do what we need to do for ourselves. This Skinny Confidential episode reminds us all how important it is to set boundaries in tactical ways. Great episode!

πŸ™ A huge thank you to friends and family that housed, hung out with, and checked in on us along the way on our slow mozy back to Seattle πŸš—. It made the road trip all the more special – we made it home!
