Hi friends –
💡 A special welcome to the 11 of you newly minted subscribers who’ve joined us since the last edition – we’re happy you’re here!
One of the most underrated joys of slow travel (that is, settling in somewhere for 2+ weeks) is finding a sense of routine in an unknown place. The last two weeks here have given us time to find just that. We’ve got our gym. We’ve got our co-working space (thx Palo Alto Club in Telliskivi!). We’ve got our groove. So, what have we channeled our new Estonian groove towards?
One creation for you all, based on popular demand… reminiscing our past!
- As many of you know, Midori and & I are huge fans of Mexico City. We know so many of you have been considering seeing this magnificent city for yourselves, so… we’re thrilled to share our 17-page Mexico City guide, exclusively for our newsletter subscribers (sign up here!). It’s chock-full of tips on where to stay, food / drink recommendations, and guides on navigating activities, transportation, and more all based on the 2 months Midori and I spent living there. Hope this one helps in planning your trip – and if it does, please let us know so we know to do more like this!
📚 One book that has been resonating with both of us
- Most of us know ClassPass well. It changed the game for booking fitness classes. What we didn’t know was story of the founder, Payal Kadakia. She’s an absolute #girlboss. Her book, titled LifePass, shares a compelling story of her South Asian heritage (💪) and how pursuing her love for Indian dance ultimately led her away from the spoils of corporate life and towards the adventure of building ClassPass. Piqued your interest? We recommend listening on audiobook to hear Payal, herself, narrate her story and explain her impressive goal-setting framework for ‘rising to your potential’ that we’ll be implementing in April.
🎧 One podcast that holds the secrets to (a healthy) life
- We’ve dropped his name on this newsletter before, but he just keeps on delivering the goods. Check out Andrew Huberman’s latest appearance on The Knowledge Project for one of the most actionable series of health-promoting habits you can implement right away. Huberman is a master of simplifying complex science that will help you live a stronger, healthier life. In fact, he’s so good that this podcast even convinced Midori it was worth postponing her morning cup of coffee in favor of health to 90-minutes after waking up – a miracle! This one is worth a listen (perhaps during an early AM walk in the sun? 😉)
🧪 One TV show that will leave you speechless and jaw-dropped
- I distinctly remember hearing all the hype around Theranos back in college. A quick 2-minute drive from campus would put you at the doorstep of what was, at the time, Silicon Valley’s darling biotech startup poised to change the diagnostics game forever. We all know how that went. Well, I guess the lesson to learn is that with every great story of failure, there’s sure to be… a great TV show hiding in there? Hulu’s rendition of Theranos’s story in The Dropout is equal parts hilarious, dark, and entertaining. Episodes drop weekly, so prepare for a long roller coaster ride as Amanda Seyfried’s brilliant performance unfolds!
