Hej hej friends –
You read the subject line right! We’re about to undertake our most ambitious travel schedule yet. As we wave a fond goodbye to Estonia, we set sail (yes, by 🛳️) to Stockholm for a quick 48 hour stop. By the time you read this, we’ll have crossed borders yet again (by 🚄) into Denmark for a quick 24 hours stop in Copenhagen before jetting (by ✈️) off to Berlin tomorrow and then another train to Prague, Czechia followed by another ✈️ to Rome, Italy.
😅 Yes, we’re sweating just thinking about it. But this is what location independence is all about! Now, a quick rundown of our favorites from the past 2 weeks:
🗺️One friendly re-highlight from us:
- We’ve gotten wonderful feedback on our Mexico City guide – thank you! For those of you now scheduling your getaway to this incredible city, check out our 17-page guide in all its glory (sign up to our newsletter for access). We’ll be making updates to the guide consistently, so we hope you find it helpful!
💡 Two travel tips to hit the road in Europe (or anywhere!) like a pro
- To travel Europe properly is to travel by train… Alas, our love for flying compels us to break that adage every now and then 😉 However, for those thinking about traveling by train, either in Europe or really anywhere in the world, we cannot recommend this gem of a site, Seat61, enough. The website is old-school, but it’s Mark Smith’s amazing hobby-turned-career now. His posts are complete with booking links, route options, and seating tips to ease any anxiety around how to navigate the oft-complex train systems around the world. We’re huge fans and visit the site constantly!
- Speaking of journeys, everyone knows it can be stressful to travel. Despite our best intentions, this can be true while sitting in a seat on board a train/plane/ship, too. Our hack? Skip the onboard dining and destress with some quality shut-eye. We use these incredible silk eyemasks (huge thanks to @chadkamisugi for this extremely practical bday gift) and skip the melatonin in favor of a cup of herbal tea or L-theanine in capsule form (this is the active component in tea that relaxes us). With these two tools, quality rest can be easy to come by even when moving fast.
🚖 One quality TV show we can’t get enough of
- Watch Super Pumped. Feel super pumped. This show is crazy good. It’s created by the same dream team that bought us Billions (another phenomenal show) chronicling the rise of Uber and the dramatic departure of Travis Kalanick from company leadership. It’s based on the equally great (so we’ve heard) book by the same name and is worth the Showtime subscription cost to watch for this season. The show is rumored to have already been renewed for a second season, this time telling the story of Facebook’s rise to global dominance. If you can peel your eyes away from the screen, let us know what you think!
You made it! Thanks for reading to the end and making us feel warm and fuzzy inside 🤗
